First Visit

Upon entering the office, you should have already completed most of the new patient information and sent it in from the website. Any additional information we need will be collected from you at the time of your appointment. The paperwork provides us with general information about you and your condition, your expectations and goals and who your Primary Care Physician is. We will ask your permission to send a brief report to your Primary Care Physician as well as any other health care providers you would like us to inform regarding your condition and treatment recommendations.

Consultation

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems and concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

History and Examination

In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized Chiropractic, Orthopedic and Neurological tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-ray Studies

We generally will avoid taking x-rays unless they are medically necessary. If your specific condition requires us to take x-rays to rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you then we will tell you. If you already have imaging (x-ray, MRI, CT) please bring them with you if possible.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. These instructions will also be e-mailed to you for your review.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. A discussion regarding your condition, with all options for care will be provided. With your authorization, a report will be sent to your Primary Care Doctor and any other Physicians who you would like us to inform them of your diagnosis and treatment plan.
